The duty crew arrived to find the homeowner consulting with her contractor, trying to locate the source of the problem. The crew found water leaking through the ceiling in the garage, directly onto a smoke detector, causing it to malfunction. After further investigation, they found that the fire sprinkler system in the home appeared to lose pressure when shut down. They secured the water and advised the homeowner to work with her contractor on locating the problem, and to contact her insurance agent.

Trash fire: At 2:35 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a trash can fire at the Mount Si Mobile Home Park on S.E. North Bend Way. They spoke with the resident, who said he’d come home to find the garbage can at the side of the trailer on fire, and had used a garden hose to extinguish it. Firefighters checked for extension of the fire into the trailer. There was a 1×1-foot char mark on the siding, but no extension. At the resident’s request, they also checked the home’s interior for carbon monoxide. After investigation, they determined that it was possible that discarded cigarettes landing on top of the plastic garbage can, had started the fire. There were many cigarette butts on the ground outside the can, and only the can’s exterior was melted.

Medical aid: In addition to the above calls, Snoqualmie EMTs responded to 12 medical aid incidents, bringing the total number of calls to date to 64.
