Avoid package theft and car prowling with safety tips from city of Snoqualmie

With the holiday season approaching, the city of Snoqualmie advises Valley residents that decreasing the chances of theft of package deliveries is an important step to take.

To increase the safety of package deliveries to your home, ask to require a signature for deliveries, or ship packages to a location that is always occupied, such as your workplace.

If on vacation, notify the post office to stop delivery to your home until you come back

Theft from cars is also a problem in residential and retail-heavy areas. Besides locking your car when you leave it, move any shopping bags or valuable items out of view in your car, to help prevent break-ins, and part your vehicle in a visible, well-lit area, or locked garage.

Anyone who sees suspicious behavior is encouraged to call the Snoqualmie Police Department at (425) 888-3333.
