King County Sheriff's Deputies recovered the body of a man from the south fork of Snoqualmie River Wednesday evening, July 7, near the Mount Si Golf Course.

The body was reported to be police by a couple who were walking along the river bank. It had been found by a man who was recreating on the river, who noticed the body in a jumble of logs that had collected at the bank.

Sheriff's Office spokesman John Urquhart told the Valley Record that the man's body appeared to have been in the water for at least several days.

The King County Medical Examiner's Office had not identified the man by Friday afternoon. Examiners are investigating the man's identity and cause of death.

The body may be that of a missing North Bend man who was last seen June 3.
