Riverview School District is going through the bid review process for a new baseball field at Cedarcrest High School.
Alternate projects will be selected along with the contractors. Alternate plans include building a roof structure over the bleachers of the existing football field and covering the batting cages adjacent to the future baseball field.
“We’re weighing out the options and how they’ll work with the budget,” said Tim Ausink, assistant project manager for Riverview School District.
Funding for the new baseball field is from a 2007 bond levy.
“This is one of several projects that’s taking place with the school district,” Ausink said. “It’s a matter of phasing the projects, designing each project in order that it takes place in and going out and getting permits.”
