A groundbreaking ceremony for Snoqualmie’s Town Center Infrastructure Improvement Project is 3:30 p.m., Monday, March 29, at the corner of River Street and Falls Avenue.

There will be refreshments and giveaways for all children attending.

Mayor Matt Larson and Congressman Dave Reichert will speak about the project and goals for economic development in downtown Snoqualmie. Reichert was integral to securing the 2007 grant by the Economic Development Administration that made the project possible.

Construction begins in early April. Project work will include replacement of water lines and pipes, undergrounding of utility poles, road and sidewalk work, installation of new street lighting, and other improvements. It will also include the addition of significant design elements with historic and railroad themes to reflect the city’s heritage.

To learn more about the project, call Public Works Director Dan Marcinko at 425-831-4919.
