The Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust will hold a tree planting event at Riverfront Park in North Bend, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14.

Volunteers are needed to help plant trees. Full day and half-day shifts are available.

Native trees are critical to the health of the Pacific Northwest. Trees improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gases, shade creeks and streams to cool water for threatened salmon, reduce erosion and filter pollutants, improve water quality and provide important wildlife habitat.

To volunteer, visit www.mtsgreenway.org/volunteer or call (206) 812-0122.
