A 16-year-old boy died in a car crash in between Duvall and Carnation on Friday, June 19.

The boy, driving a Honda Civic, was broadsided on the driver’s side by a Jeep Cherokee at 11:15 a.m. in the 29500 block of Northeast Big Rock Road.

The teen was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he died shortly after 1 p.m. The other driver, a 20-year-old woman, was taken to Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland with non-life threatening injuries.

The road was wet at the time of the crash and speed is thought to be a contributing factor, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the cause of the crash.
