Driver dies after driving wrong way on freeway

A woman died early Friday on Interstate 90 near North Bend, after driving her car the wrong way on the freeway.

Media reports stated that the crash happened about 2:30 a.m. Friday, June 12, near the Tinkham Road exit east of North Bend.

The woman, who was not identified, was driving west in the eastbound lanes when she struck a pickup truck. She was killed instantly, and five men who were in the pickup also suffered life-threatening injuries.

All five men were airlifted to area hospitals. The highway was closed for three hours.
