Valley flood debris site open through Sunday

The flood debris collection site at the King Street parking lot in downtown Snoqualmie will be open through Sunday, Feb. 1, for those affected by the flood.Collection hours are noon to 4 p.m. Sunday will be the final day for collection.

Debris should be separated into three categories: appliances with Freon, scrap metal, and general debris.

As homeowners begin repairing property damaged by the flood, in many cases they must obtain building, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical permits. Building permits can be issued over the counter at the Snoqualmie Building Department, 8194 S.E. Stearns Rd., off Tokul Road; (425) 888-5435. Mechanical permits are required for repair of flood-damaged furnaces, gas fireplaces, and gas clothes dryers.
