A group of Valley residents who have survived cancer, or are continuing to battle the disease, are finding solidarity in a monthly coffee get together.
About a dozen cancer-experienced locals meet at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday of each month at the Sawdust Coffee Company at the Factory Stores at North Bend.
Participant Lisa Newell said the informal get-togethers are a way for people who are dealing with cancer to talk to others who have gone through similar experiences.
"You look at everything differently," Newell said.
The coffee group is forming a team for this summer's Snoqualmie Valley Relay for Life. They will be called "Team Survivor"
