A 29-year-old North Bend man apparently committed suicide Thursday morning, Nov. 27, by jumping off an observation deck at Snoqualmie Falls.

Someone called 911 from the Salish Lodge to report hearing screaming in the area at 8:28 a.m., said Snoqualmie Police Department spokeswoman Becky Munson.

King County Search and Rescue workers retrieved the remains of the man.

Authorities impounded the man’s vehicle, in which they found an apparent suicide note tucked inside a book.

A police officer and chaplain notified the victim’s family of his death.

Police turned the case over to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Munson said.
