Hospital surgery wing reopens

The Snoqualmie Valley Hospital restarted its surgery program. The surgery wing at the hospital had been vacant since 1996, the last time a surgery was performed there.

A number of specialists who have set up clinics at the hospital were the impetus for the program.


Businesses, smokers comply with law

As Initiative No. 901 went into effect, smokers in Washington state could no longer smoke inside restaurants and other public places. The ban also forbids smoking within areas less then 25 feet from doorways and ventilation openings.
