A mobile home in River View Park near Fall City was destroyed by fire June 24. The elderly resident was able to escape with help from a visitor.

The home was located in the 4700 block of 334th Avenue Southeast near the Preston-Fall City Road.

Fall City Fire Chief Chris Connor said the likely cause of the blaze was a cigarette that was either dropped or improperly discarded.

The call came in at 7:02 p.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, flames were visible and smoke filled the home, Connor said.

"It quickly erupted into flames and became fully involved," he said.

The home was razed; damage was estimated at $250,000.
