Fire guts Snoqualmie area buildings

Firefighters with Eastside Fire and Rescue and the Snoqualmie Fire Department responded to a report of black smoke and explosions in the area of the 7800 block of 376 Avenue SE near Snoqualmie at 5:42 a.m. June 26.

Upon arrival at the scene, smoke and flames were visible from a detached garage behind the house as well as from a motor home. After crews made their way up the driveway, it was discovered there was an additional outbuilding as well as a single wide mobile home with heavy fire and smoke damage. Firefighters quickly knocked down the garage fire and prevented the fire from spreading to an adjacent house. All buildings and the motor home were a total loss. The home was not occupied at the time. There were no injuries reported.

Additional crews came to ensure the fire was out. With dry conditions and hot weather, firefighters remained on the scene to ensure no embers could reignite the vegetation in the area.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the King County Fire Investigation Unit.
