Si View director resigns
October 2, 2008 · Updated 4:15 PM
Si View Metropolitan Park District Executive Director Jessi Richardson is leaving for a new job as parks and recreation director for the city of Sammamish. The park district Board of Commissioners at their Dec. 6 meeting appointed Larry Rhule to take over as interim director beginning Dec. 16. Rhule is the district's operations manager.
Commissioners said they plan to interview candidates in January and expect to have a new director on the job by March 1. Park district special project coordinator Wanda Boe also resigned. She said she plans to start her own business. Her last official day will be Dec. 31, but she will be using vacation time until then.
Park district commissioners thanked and praised both departing employees.
"You've been the face of Si View," Jeanne Acker, board president, told Boe. Boe began her association with Si View prior to the formation of the district. She worked on the campaign to form the park district when King County in 2002 decided to close the Si View Community Center and Pool. The park district formed in February 2003. It is an independent, regional unit of government similar to a fire district, hospital district or school district, allowing local control of the Si View park, pool and community center.
