Woman reports attempted break-in

Crystal Luquette had just put her two young children to bed in their Snoqualmie Ridge home. Her husband was away on a business trip and she took a long bath to relax before turning in for the night.

The relaxation never came. As she walked into the bedroom, Luquette said she was startled by what she saw: a gloved hand sliding the window open from the outside. She screamed, the family dog barked and the hand disappeared, she said.

"I was terrified," Luquette said. "It's creepy. The most bothering is the unknown, the what-if."

Luquette, 25, said she doesn't know whether the hand belonged to someone attempting a random burglary, or a person who knew her husband was away and had more nefarious plans.

Because the hand was wearing a glove - a tight-fitting, purple, perhaps latex glove - Luquette said she is even more concerned.

She also is worried by the behavior of the dog, a black Labrador and blue heeler mix. It had been acting peculiar all night, following Luquette from room to room and lying by the bathroom door throughout her bath, she said.
