The state shut down an escrow company with a North Bend office this month after the owner allegedly used more than $65,000 of customer money for personal use. A King County Superior Court judge appointed a person June 18 to oversee the $2.5 million in escrow accounts managed by the company.

The state Division of Consumer Services' Department of Financial Institutions issued a temporary cease-and-desist order June 8 against Exceptional Escrow Corp. and owner Catherine Wiseman of Ravensdale.

The company is based in Redmond and has branch offices in Bonney Lake and North Bend.

Wiseman said she had no comment at this time and is consulting her attorney.
