Teen arrested for vandalizing busses

A 17-year-old boy was apprehended while vandalizing the Snoqualmie Valley School District bus fleet late Sunday, Nov. 18.
The teen, who is a student at Mount Si High School, was caught while attempting flee the scene at the district bus garage, around 9:50 p.m. Sunday.
A neighbor called police that evening after seeing lights inside several buses.
The vandal damaged eleven school buses by cutting the wires that activate the stop panels, causing an estimated $3,500 in damage. Repairs were completed by 1 a.m. Monday and school buses ran on schedule that morning.
This is the second time that the district's buses have been vandalized this school year. Similar damages were inflicted to the entire bus fleet Oct. 22, causing a one-day school closure last month.
The suspected vandal was taken into custody to King County Youth Service Center and Juvenile Court in downtown Seattle and booked for burglary and malicious mischief. An investigation is under way to determine whether he is also connected to the October vandalism, or if Sunday's incident was a copy cat crime.
