County raises taxes

King County imposed three new taxes: a county-wide, 10-cent per $1,000 in assessed property value tax to fight flood hazards; one-tenth of one cent sales tax to help with mental illness and drug dependency; and a tax of 5.5 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, to fund county passenger ferry service.
