Fierce winds blew down a tall tree onto two homes Tuesday, Jan. 1, in the Riverbend neighborhood of North Bend.

Firefighters from Eastside Fire and Rescue responded to the incident, which badly damaged one residence and caused a child's television to catch fire at another.

No injuries were reported, but residents in the path of the fallen tree suffered damage to their property and were shaken by the accident.
