Thieves grab mail from Preston post
October 2, 2008 · Updated 3:42 PM
Investigators with the U.S Postal Service are seeking the public's help in finding out who broke into the Preston post office over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
The burglary happened sometime between 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, and 6 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22. Unknown persons used pry tools to force open the door to the lobby, and took packages and some letter mail.
Investigators aren't sure exactly how much mail was stolen.
U.S. Postal Inspector Jeremy Leder was readying notices to be mailed out to all Preston post office box owners, asking them to check their credit reports and make sure their personal information is secure.
