Schools foundation hosting fund-raiser
October 2, 2008 · Updated 3:38 PM
The Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation will host its Seventh Annual Fundraising Breakfast, at 7:30 a.m. Friday, March 28 at the Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Club. The foundation will welcome back King 5 News Anchor Dennis Bounds as emcee, and the program includes speeches from special guests from the community. This year's theme is "Teach...Inspire...Motivate."
The non-profit Snoqualmie Valley Schools Foundation is led by a volunteer Board of Directors representing all areas of the Valley. By securing resources from community and corporate donors, the foundation funds and sustains many important programs throughout the Snoqualmie Valley schools.
The foundation's recent district-wide initiatives include funding ActivBoards in the middle and high schools, dissection kits for biology in middle schools, and Music in Education piano keyboards in elementary schools. Recent classroom grants affected more than 22 classrooms and supported arts, technology, math, science, student journalism and other areas of learning. Through funding the Summer Learning Academy, the Foundation has helped teachers enhance skills to reach students of various learning styles.
