Families can take part in fun-filled event

Kids Day is sponsored locally by Dr. Leslie Bedell of Agape Chiropractic. Located at 145 E. Third, the clinic will host the event. It is free to Valley children and their parents.

The event will offer informative handouts on crime prevention and child safety, environmental awareness, drug awareness, disease prevention and promoting healthy lifestyles. A special ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m., and will feature North Bend city officials, 5th District Sen. Dino Rossi, state Reps. Cheryl Pflug and Glenn Anderson and Empowerment Awards will be given to recipients.

Other activities include:

• Meet the Eastside Fire & Rescue team and explore a fire engine.

• Get bicycle helmets and safety information from Cascade Bicycle Club.

• Meet the Good Neighbor Bear and learn to call 911.

• Take part in free pediatric dental screenings by Dr. Cynthia Delano's office.

• Raffle prizes will be given away every hour. Top prizes are Nintendo 64 videogame system and a BMX bike by Singletrack Cycles.

• Have your face painted and visit a petting zoo.
