Lack of contract may have municipal courts out of order

SNOQUALMIE VALLEY - Snoqualmie, North Bend and other Eastside cities may be looking for a different venue in which to hold their municipal court proceedings once their current contract with King County expires.

County officials sent a letter to Eastside cities saying they will renegotiate a contract with the cities to which they provide municipal court services. The present contract, which started in 1998 and will expire at the end of 2004, provides county buildings, judges and staff to handle all municipal court cases, which include misdemeanor and gross misdemeanor offenses.
