SNOQUALMIE - Thursday, Sept. 5, wasn't the first time Falls Pharmacy owner Brock Nyberg had been called in the middle of the night by a Snoqualmie police officer.

But it was one night he will always remember, as two men from Snohomish County were arrested after a botched robbery attempt at his pharmacy on Railroad Avenue.

Nyberg had received calls in the past for his alarm system going off, but when he got the call about 1:30 a.m. last Thursday, he knew it was for real.

Police officers had already arrested one suspect and were looking for a second. A bag loaded with painkillers was recovered at the scene. Later, the small amount of cash that is kept at the store was recovered outside.

Nyberg said the men went after specific drugs and were probably anticipating selling them.

"These men knew what they were doing," Nyberg said. "They were professionals."

A Snoqualmie Department of Public Safety-Police Division officer happened to be passing by the store early that morning and saw some motion from inside the store out of the corner of his eye.

Suspecting a burglary, the officer called for backup and approached the store. When the suspects saw the officer, they fled on foot.
