SNOQUALMIE - A fight that broke out between Mount Si High School and Issaquah High School students after a basketball game may lead to some students being charged with assault.

According to King County Sheriff's Office spokesman Kevin Fagerstrom, some fighting words were exchanged between Mount Si students and Issaquah High School students attending a basketball game on Friday, Jan. 10, at Mount Si High School.

There was apparently a fight set up for the night of Tuesday, Jan. 14, somewhere in Issaquah, but it was somehow canceled and ended up happening near Lake Tradition trail head in Issaquah.

Fagerstrom said the sheriff's office is still trying to pin down details about how many students were involved and what they did, but more information about the fight was being discovered.

"We have a short list of possible names we will be looking into," Fagerstrom said.

One Issaquah boy ended up needing 100 stitches on his face after the fight and Fagerstrom said charges could be filed once more details are determined. As many as 70 people may have been at the scene of the confrontation.

"We are declaring this to be a felonious assault," he said.
