NORTH BEND - A change of address will find two members of the North Bend City Council stepping down in the upcoming weeks.

Jack and Elaine Webber will relinquish their positions when the sale of their North Bend home, which hit the market last week, is finalized. State and city law mandates that to hold a council position you must live within the city limits of the represented municipality. The Webbers' move will take them to a Snoqualmie Ridge condominium in preparation for Jack's pending retirement.

"It was a very difficult decision, but Jack is eligible for retirement from his school [Two Rivers] at the end of the year ... and we'd like to have choices when he's ready," said Elaine.

Those choices, Elaine said, include beginning the process of "down sizing." Elaine says a move to a smaller place will free up finances and time for the Webbers.
