Voters approve Si View Park District

NORTH BEND - The historic Si View Community Center will once again open its doors to the public thanks to a voter-supported measure that saved the facility from an uncertain future.
"It just shows that the community is ready to step up and take on the things it cares about," said Si View supporter Gardiner Vinnedge.
On Tuesday, Feb. 4, North Bend voters residing within Fire District 38's boundary overwhelmingly approved the formation of the Si View Metropolitan Park District, and elected five commissioners to act as the district's board of directors. Although a final count of ballots was not expected until after the Valley Record's deadline, King County totals for 100 percent of polls and 90 percent of absentee ballots show the measure garnering 71 percent approval.
