SNOQUALMIE - Sushanta Goswami may end up working as hard as anyone else in the Valley, but to him it will be like a vacation.

Goswami was recently hired as the physician who will lead the urgent-care facility at the Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, a full-time position he will balance with another job at St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way.

The hours and commute will be long from his home in Bothell, but Goswami said the Valley's setting will make it worth the effort.

"I came out to visit and I saw that it was so beautiful," Goswami said. "It's like a vacation land. It would be nice to work in a vacation land where you can live like a tourist."

Live like a tourist perhaps, but work like a committed physician is what Goswami has wanted to do since he was a teen-ager in India. After he graduated high school, Goswami went to live with an uncle who was a doctor while he attended college. Goswami saw his uncle as a leader and caretaker of his community and decided he wanted to become a physician.
