NORTH BEND - In an effort to keep residents and visitors more informed on what is going on in the city, North Bend officials have launched a revamped Web site.

Unveiled earlier this month, the new site features easily accessible, up-to-date information that includes meeting agendas and minutes, public notices and event listings, to name a few.

North Bend enlisted the help of Minnesota-based GovOffice to revamp the site. Launched in June 2001, GovOffice is the nation's leading provider of Web site development to local governments. The company has more than 400 clients in 40 states and two Canadian provinces. The GovOffice system operates through a partnership that includes the International City/County Management Association, the League of Minnesota Cities and Microsoft Corp.

GovOffice's primary goals are expanding resident's online access to government and making online government services available to local governments of all sizes.

"The biggest beneficiary will be the citizens who can access information, interact with local government and conveniently receive government services online," said David Block, Microsoft's E-Government partner manager.

The system requires no technical or TML training to update the site, making it easier to upload new information.

The Web site address is www.ci.north-bend.wa.us.
