NORTH BEND - James Armitage, an 18-year-old man from Bellevue, was killed last week when his car slammed into a bridge abutment on Eastbound Interstate 90 at Exit 32.

Units from Eastside Fire and Rescue and the Washington State Patrol responded to the scene at 12:46 p.m. on Dec. 9.

Upon arrival, crews found a blue 1987 Mazda 626 with significant damage.

According to the Washington State Patrol the car was traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran into the median and traveled about 500 feet before crashing head-on into the abutment.

Troopers found no evidence of alcohol or drugs, according to the Washington State Patrol.
