Parking to be strictly enforced in Snoqualmie
October 2, 2008 · Updated 12:03 PM
Due to the increase in population, city officials feel that parking has become a serious concern for the citizens of Snoqualmie. In recognition of safety issues, the city will be enforcing two laws in regards to parking:
* Vehicles driving across the oncoming traffic lane to park facing the wrong way is a very serious safety issue for pedestrians and drivers of other motor vehicles. Parking facing the wrong direction on a city street is in violation of RCW 46.61.575(1) and SMC: 10.08.040(D). All vehicles must be parked in the same direction as authorized traffic movement.
* Parking where prohibited by signing is in violation of RCW 46.61.570 and SMC: 10.08.040. All vehicles parked in a no-parking zone are in violation of state and local statutes.
For questions and concerns in this matter, call the Snoqualmie Police Department at (425) 888-3333.
