The King County Department of Transportation Road Services Division will be closing the historic Meadowbrook Bridge, located on Meadowbrook Way Southeast over the Snoqualmie River, early in April to begin its rehabilitation. The bridge is scheduled to remain closed from April through October 2005.

King County Road Services will replace the bridge's timber approach trestles with new concrete spans, rebuild the truss deck and convert the bridge from two lanes to a single lane with traffic controls at each end. This will allow the county to remove load restrictions and provide wider shoulders and a wider traffic lane while preserving the historic bridge structure. Sight lines, overhead clearance, flood clearance and overall safety will also be improved.

Two alternate routes around the closed bridge are readily available: one at State Route 202 and the other at Reinig/428th Avenue Southeast.
