Helping Katrina victims locally

* Sunday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local pet service professionals will provide a range of services with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross or to a relief organization that provides for pets affected by the disaster. Events will take place at U Dirty Dog!, located at 301 W. North Bend Way, Suite E, North Bend. For information, contact Tracy Skylstad at (425) 888-2120 or Cathi Linden at (425) 888-8100. Donations for a silent auction and volunteers are welcome. Also, those with a pet-related service who would like to join the event are asked to e-mail ValleyPetPros@yahoo.com.


* North Bend Elementary School PTSA (Parent/Teacher/Student Association) is collecting money for the American Red Cross at the school in an aquarium.


* Friends of the Gulf Coast. Group started by Snoqualmie residents Jan and Mark Calvert. Donations can be sent to:
