Man dies in highway crash

An Idaho man died on Interstate 90 Thursday, Aug. 31, 17 miles east of North Bend.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Darin Smith, 37, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was driving westbound in a 1989 Dodge Durango when he drove off the left side of the inside lane and struck the barrier.

The wreck occurred at about 2:11 p.m. Drugs and alcohol were not suspected. Smith was wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
