A propane truck apparently was stolen during the night from a locked, fenced area at Suburban Propane, 30405 S.E. 84th St., near Preston.

A King County Sheriff's Office deputy on routine patrol noticed the gate at the facility was open about 2:45 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 24. The lock to the gate had been broken. The deputy notified employees and they determined one propane truck was missing. Employees were not sure how much propane was in the truck's storage tank.

The suspect or suspects also apparently tried unsuccessfully to hotwire another truck.

The stolen truck was recovered later in the day in Everett.
