Library opening draws large crowd

Adults marked the opening day of King County Library System's new branch with speeches and a ribbon cutting.

But all the kids wanted was the books.

Snoqualmie's newest library branch was jam-packed on its first day in operation Wednesday, Aug. 1. A crowd of more than 300 people attended the ribbon cutting, backing up onto one closed lane of Center Boulevard for their first visit to the new Snoqualmie Ridge library.

"I really can't believe how many people are here," said library builder Brad Bastion of BN Builders.
