King County Sheriff's Office is investigating an assault in a public bathroom at the Factory Stores at North Bend after a 22-year-old Bellevue woman's leg was grabbed by an unidentified male assailant.

According to sheriff's department reports, at 4:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10, the woman reported that she had been in the public restroom next to the toy store at the shopping center with her back to the closed stall door when she heard someone enter. Suddenly she felt hands on her leg, and the assailant tried to pull her down. She started yelling for help and the assailant fled.

Sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart stated that the only description the victim was able to give police of her assailant is of a white male.

"She assumes the suspect is a male because [of] the hand she saw," he stated.

Officers were unable to located the suspect, and police did not receive any other reports of similar crimes in the area, according to Urquhart.

If caught, the man potentially would face charges of fourth-degree assault and criminal trespassing for entering a woman's bathroom.
