Looking to improve the parks and playgrounds in their community, a group of Fall City residents are building support for a new Fall City Park District to take the place of King County.

The newly formed, nonprofit Friends of Fall City Parks will hold a study meeting on a new park district at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the Fall City United Methodist Church, 4326 337th Pl. S.E., Fall City.

If formed, the Fall City Park District would aim to get ownership of Fall City Park and seek more parks, playgrounds and a community center for Fall City residents.
