Parents check out school crowding

About two dozen parents navigated busy hallways, sat through classes and ate cafeteria food as they discovered what it's like to be a Mount Si student during the high school's third annual parent visit day Feb. 28.
"The kids go through a lot, from walking in the door until they leave, and I understand even more why my son comes home and needs to de-stress," said Deta Sinclair, mother of a Mount Si freshman.
"I started off saying 'excuse me' when I bumped somebody in the halls, but you can't say sorry to everybody, because that's all you'd say all the way down the hallway," she said.
Parents came to see how crowded the school really is, assess teachers' effectiveness, and witness how high school life had changed since their graduation.
"This is good, so parents realize again why the bond need to get passed. There are too many kids," said parent Ken Grant, who helped organize the event.
