King County OKs Tollgate transfer
October 2, 2008 · Updated 9:11 AM
The King County Council unanimously approved the transfer of about 200 acres of Tollgate Farm to the city of North Bend on Monday, June 23.
"This is really exciting," said City Administrator Duncan Wilson. "Tollgate is an important historical part of the city."
About 14 acres on the west side of the park will be developed for active recreation, including some "much-needed ball fields," said Wilson, who expected the transfer to be finalized within 30 days.
The acres set to be tranferred are entirely within North Bend city limits, but had long been under county control.
