Before the Carnation Fourth of July parade, hungry visitors can enjoy the annual pancake breakfast put on by Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ.

Pancakes are served from 8 to 11 a.m. at the "stone church," located at 4851 Tolt Ave. Cost is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and children age 4 to 12, and free for children 3 and younger.

Meal includes hotcakes joined by ham, eggs and fresh strawberry jam. Diners who are really hungry may have seconds on pancakes.

A new menu item for this year is the "Take It To Go" breakfast for diners who want to eat in their parade chairs, waiting for the main event to start.

Proceeds benefit the church's Good Neighbor Fund, which is used to help Valley residents through short-term crises. To find out more about the pancake breakfast, call (425) 788-1458.
