King County authorities have identified the 20-year-old man who drowned in the Middle Fork of the Snoqualmie River Saturday, Aug. 16 as Ryan B. Lu of Bellevue.

Lu was swimming with friends when he disappeared underwater shortly before 6 p.m. About 40 minutes later, rescuers recovered his body under 15 feet of water.

The drowning death was the second in the Snoqualmie River this summer. On June 30, Curtis Hall of Kirkland disappeared when his inner tube flipped in an area of rapids.

Both men were not wearing life jackets.
