Construction of the new roundabout at North Bend Way and Cedar Falls Way is wrapping up.

Tom Mohr, North Bend’s assistant city engineer, told the Record that the new roundabout should open by the end of this week. Work is proceeding as anticipated and remains on budget, with a total project cost of about $1.5 million.

Some crosswalk and signage work remained to be done this week, and Mohr said the city will have to wait until September for landscape work. Otherwise, it’s nearly ready to roll.

“I think it’s going to work just fine,” Mohr said. “People will find that it’s easy to drive.”

The city awarded the roundabout contract in January to Archer Construction, following a bid process.
