Change batteries when you change your clock; Battery giveaway at North Bend, Carnation

When you change your clock this Sunday, Nov. 3, as Daylight Saving Time ends, Eastside Fire and Rescue urges you to change the batteries in your smoke detector. Starbuck’s, Bartell Drug Store, Issaquah Home Depot and QFC have committed  to donating nine-volt batteries at participating stores within Eastside Fire & Rescue’s service area while supplies last.  EFR asks that anyone who receives a free battery make that life- saving change by changing the battery in their smoke alarm or carbon monoxide detector.

• Engine 87 will visit the North Bend QFC, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday,  Nov. 2.

• Engine 85 will visit the Starbucks at Carnation, 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 3, at 31722 Eugene St.
