Sheriff, rescue volunteers save injured hiker on Little Si

A 23-year-old woman fell while rock climbing on Little Si, and was rescued Thursday afternoon, July 11.

Rescuers and volunteers with the King County Sheriff's Office and Eastside Fire and Rescue responded around 5 p.m. Thursday, after the hiker fell about 20 feet while rock climbing about a quarter of the way up the Little Si trail near North Bend. The woman injured her lower leg and head, Sheriff's spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West reported.

King County Search and Rescue volunteers responded and were vital to the rescue, says West.

The trail was closed during the rescue. The hiker was rescued by 8 p.m. and taken to a regional hospital.
