Hospital closes sale with Snoqualmie Tribe

Valley hospital commissioners held their final special meeting Friday, May 23, at their longtime meeting site, the Weyerhauser Room at Snoqualmie Valley Hospital, to approve revised promissory agreements with the Snoqualmie Tribe, wrapping up the sale of the old campus.
The change, approved by commissioners Fritz Ribary, Kevin Hauglie, Joan Young and Dick Jones, allows the Snoqualmie Tribe added flexibility in paying the $30 million asking price over a two-year period. The sale is expected to close this week, with title going to the tribe.
Hauglie called the sale a stepping stone to a future campus.
Hospital CEO Rodger McCollum said the special meeting was called to allow the Tribe to use the completed sale as leverage in grant meetings this week.
The hospital board will now convene at a new meeting site: the Snoqualmie Fire Station. Effective Thursday, June 5, King County Public Hospital District No. 4 commissioners meetings will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at the fire hall, 37600 S.E. Snoqualmie Parkway.
This decision was made by the board because additional space was needed due to the increased attendance, said Jay Rodne, legal counsel for the hospital district.
