Wrong-way driver leads police on high speed pursuit from Snoqualmie to Kirkland

Speeding 100 miles per hour down the wrong-way lanes of a freeway, a man in a Honda Accord with Idaho plates led police on a reckless chase from Snoqualmie to Kirkland.
A Snoqualmie officer first noticed the man doing 54 in a 40 mph zone on Snoqualmie Parkway shortly after midnight Tuesday, Feb. 12, according to Snoqualmie Capt. Nick Almquist.
When he saw the flashing lights, the driver didn't stop, but pulled a U-turn and drove back up the Parkway, entering I-90 via the exit lane on the south side of Exit 25. Traveling up the interstate, followed by Snoqualmie and Issaquah Police, then the State Patrol, he reached speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour, reports said.
The driver exited the highway, onto Bellevue Way, driving at high speed and, at times, in and out of the oncoming lane. Officers lost contact with the car, but received more reports and recontacted him a few miles further.
State Patrol Spokeswoman Trooper Julie Judson said his driving was dangerous, with the Accord striking roadway barriers, the driver at times unable to control his vehicle.
Media reports say the man made it all the way to the Northeast 85th exit near Kirkland. He stopped his car near the I-405 center line and tried to flee on foot before officers captured him. He was arrested for eluding and a suspected DUI.
