Shelves getting low, donations sought at Preston food bank

November 21, 2012 · 11:07 AM

When Pastor Roy Peacock opened the doors of the Adra P. Berry Memorial Food Bank in Preston on Wednesday, Nov. 21, he noticed something was different. The shelves were nearly empty.

The food bank has seen demand in recent months that supplies are running low.

Peacock put out a call for non-perishable food donations to help the bank during its busy season. The Preston bank serves about 65 families, with food given out on Thursday afternoons.

Priorities include peanut butter, tuna, pasta and canned goods.

Food can be dropped of at the Raging River Community Church, 31104 S.E. 86th St., Preston.

Cash or check donations may be made to P.O. Box 948, Preston, WA  98050. Checks can be made out to Raging River Community Church, with "Food Bank" on the memo line.
