Carnation American Legion celebration honors Korean War vets

October 22, 2012 · 6:21 PM

American Legion Post 199 will honor Korean War veterans in a celebration, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, at the post, 31951 E. Bird St., Carnation.

All local Korean War vets, men and women, are invited, as are others who would like to honor them.

Residents are encouraged to bring family and friends, especially the younger generation, who have not yet had the opportunity to learn the war and its sacrifices.

Various Korean War-era vehicles and firearms, unloaded, will be on display, and light snacks will be provided.

Other celebrations honoring veterans who served the nation during other eras and conflicts are planned for the future.
